Circle of Life from PICU to AICU: Care of the adult ICU patient for PICU nurses

With an ever-increasing demand on adult critical care services across the country, some paediatric critical care teams have started to admit critically ill adult patients into paediatric critical care units.  With this in mind, we wanted to support our paediatric critical care nurses by providing an update in the nursing management of the critically ill adult patient.  The session aims were to provide a brief overview alongside the opportunity to ask any questions of our adult critical care nurses.

We would like to thank PICS and ESPIC alongside Dr Lyvonne Tume for this opportunity to share our practice to help PICU nurses who have stepped up and have taken on the challenge in managing adult critically ill patients in this unprecedented time. We hope you find these resources and references useful.
