I worked in the Royal Navy QARNNS for 12 years; completing 2 tours in Afghanistan, Herrick 5 and 9. I spent 3 months onboard the RFA Fort Victoria for Anti Piracy Ops in 2010 in Somalian waters and attended various military exercises including onboard RFA Argus.

I started in Critical Care in Plymouth 2008 completing my Degree course at Southampton in 2010/11. I spent a year designing medical courses for Defence Medical Services at Lichfield in 2014 working in GICU at Royal Stoke in Stoke On Trent for a further year before moving to Portsmouth in 2016.

I started in critical care at University College London Hospitals trust in 1997. I have held roles in practice development and education before moving into research. I have been involved in the Xtreme Everest Oxygen Research Consortium since its inception in 2004, running medical research expeditions at altitude and in hypoxic chambers. I moved to University Hospital Southampton in 2012, and manage the multidisciplinary critical care research group in partnership with a medical colleague. I completed the ENB 100 at South Bank University and a Masters in Critical Care at Imperial, and am now undertaking a PhD at the University of Southampton related to tolerance of hypoxia.
