Filipa Monteiro

Filipa Monteiro is a Senior Staff Nurse and Transfer Lead in ICU at the Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Reading. She trained in Vila Real, Portugal, and qualified in 2009.  

She has worked in diverse settings since 2010 and found her passion in Critical Care in 2015. Filipa has been an active member of the BACCN since 2014, having joined the Central South Committee in 2015 where she took part in organising and divulging many relevant and fun study events.  Filipa was co-opted onto the National Board in November 2020 and is currently the Regional Advisor.

Beyond her professional commitments, Filipa is passionate about the use of Voice in its many facets, as a singer, a defender and an advocate. She’s a Self-Defence practitioner, an Open Water Swimmer, Metal head, book Dragon, Coffee (and Tea) afficionado and can be seen frequently travelling for any combination of the above.
