ICU Nurse Educator Fellowship in Zanzibar

The NED Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Health Zanzibar, is inviting experienced ICU nurses to apply for the ICU Nurse Educator Fellowship – Zanzibar, a structured international educator role supporting the development of critical care nursing capacity in Zanzibar.

The Fellowship is part of a six-month Critical Care Nursing Programme designed to train Zanzibari nurses through a combination of lectures, skills sessions, simulation, bedside mentorship and competency-based assessment. Fellows will work directly with a cohort of +15 nurses, supporting their clinical development and helping strengthen safe, effective intensive care practice within the public health system.

This opportunity is aimed at registered nurses with substantial ICU experience, strong teaching or mentoring skills, and the ability to work respectfully and flexibly in a resource-limited clinical environment. Fellows should normally be available for 3–6 months.

The role is not a short-term observational placement. It is a demanding, hands-on teaching and mentorship position within a long-term programme led by the NED Foundation and developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health Zanzibar. Travel, accommodation and stipend support are provided.
