Research support request on how you support children when someone important to them is dying on the adult ICU

9th Jun 2025

How do you support children when someone important to them is dying on the adult ICU?

The POSIE Study is inviting adult ICU healthcare professionals to take part in a short survey exploring how children - and those who care for them - are supported when someone important to them is dying in an adult intensive care unit.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to recommendations that could make a real difference for children experiencing one of life’s most difficult moments.

Led by researchers at Oxford Brookes University, the POSIE Study uses an experience-based co-design approach, working alongside bereaved children, families, and ICU staff to understand what helps, what doesn’t, and what needs to change. The goal: to improve child-centred bereavement care in adult ICUs.

Your voice matters! By sharing your experience, you can help shape more compassionate, practical, and effective support for children and their families.

Take part in the POSIE survey today!
